MetalTech not only uses more material but uses it in a very innovative fashion. Even in its lightest form it is capable of multi story structural support, it is further capable of withstanding Cat 5 cyclonic conditions including new impact resistance requirements, making it suitable as a “Standard” for pre engineered frames in any geographical region.
- MetalTech Technology
The MetalTech system is a full faced steel panel, incorporating a structural support member (Stud), Bracing and Wall facing into a single member, and in engineering design it is common that the more material utilized, the better structural properties it will have. MetalTech's proprietary technology creates structural panels which are continuously “in shear”, thus a “continuous structural panel". As the “stud and sheathing” have been combined into one unitized structural component, loads are more uniformly distributed across the entire structure.
- Low Rise and Multi Story Applications
Current Technology: The transfer of vertical loads relies on vertical alignment of studs, joists, and rafters because the top track typically is not capable of transferring these loads. This framing technique is called in-line framing. An alternative to in-line framing for vertical load
transfer uses heavier framing members, often made of wood, structural steel or built-up
light-gauge steel members, in addition to the top or bottom steel track. The ubiquitous platform framing and the older balloon framing are the two different light frame construction systems used in North America.
